When confronted by the Pharisees for breaking the rabbinic rules in regard to keeping the Sabbath, Jesus pointed to the story of Creation and reminded them that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. Human beings are so important to Him, that He set aside one-seventh of His time to spend with Adam and Eve. He designed the Sabbath to be a channel of delivering His spiritual blessings, to connect us with Him as the source of life, one full day each week. Knowing the mind and heart of God keeps us away from many man-made rules which have no eternal value.
